Seminars in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine - Practice & Skills

These are seminars meant to help trained acupuncturists to follow short seminars both about the application of foundation principles and the acquisition of new skills and new areas of expertise.

 

These courses accompany the first steps of the young practitioner and can also be followed in the context of PDS (Professional Development Studies), carrying  between 1/2 to 1 ECTS.  

 

Some of the courses listed below, except for those involving the insertion of needles, are also made available to the non- Chinese Medicine professional and the general public.

Seminars in Essential oils & acupuncture  - 16 hours - on campus. Open to all

In this Seminar you’ll learn how to apply essential oils to acupuncture points according to  an evaluation of each case based on Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnosis. The Oils we use in our course come from common Chinese herbs.  Come along and touch, smell and see by yourself the effect each oil can have when   used from the perspective of Chinese Medicine.

Series of seminars in "The four diagnostic techniques - 1. Pulse diagnosis" - 24 hours. On campus. Open to all alternative practitioners

Looking, hearing/smelling, asking and palpating are the 4 pillars of  the diagnostic procedure of Chinese medicine.  In this seminar we shall discuss and practice TCM  “Pulse diagnosis”. Please, invite your lay friends to join us as guests so that we can have a wider range of ‘cases’ we can take the pulses.

Diagnosis: "The four diagnostic techniques - 2. asking and building a rapport" - 16 hours. On campus. Open to all Alternative Practitioners

How to build a relationship with a patient? ‘How much’ and  ‘what of us’ is involved in the relationship? Who ‘works’ in a session? What was the aim of ‘acupuncture’  in the past? … and in the present? What  does ‘helping’ mean?  Answers to these and many more questions will be given from a Classical Chinese  point of view, backed up by primary sources. The students will also practice the various aspects involved in order to gain confidence in applying them in the clinic

Seminars in advanced cupping and moxibustion techniques - 14 hours hands-on Seminar On Campus. Open to all Alternative Practitioners

Cupping is a therapeutical tool used not only in China, but also in the Arabic and south-Easter Mediterranean parts of the world. In this seminar, we shall learn various cupping techniques coming mainly from the Chinese Tradition.  We shall study the theory  cupping, its indications, controindication and clinical application on at least 30 common diseases. This is mainly a hands-on seminar.

Seminars in Aesthetic acupuncture(face) - First out five. On campus.  Open only to Qualified Acupuncturist

This is the 1st level of 5 seminars aimed at teaching some of the Chinese  imperial court ‘secret beauty’ treatments’, as taught  in the 80s by the daoist doctor Pang Yi Wu  exclusively to a handful of selected students. 

 

The application of acupuncture in aesthetics has gained immense popularity  thanks to the exceptional results it yields especially with regards to ‘lifting’.  Less known is its great contribution to  ‘filling’, reshaping, erasing stains, scars and correcting deviations (i.e. Bell’s palse facial paralysis).

 

This course will concentrate on showing a combination of ‘filling’ and lifting’ techniques leads to impressive, long lasting results in a very short time.  

 

Come along to learn and apply these impressive method taught by international teachers with over 30 years experience in the practice of acupuncture and  Chinese medicine. (Apply what you will learn on  friends who have this kind of problems. Invite them to come along for free).

Seminars in Aesthetic Acupuncture - face - second out of 5 - 15 hours. On campus. Open only to Qualified Acupuncturists

This is the 2nd level of 5 seminars aimed at teaching some of the Chinese  imperial court ‘secret beauty’ treatments’, as taught in the 80s by the Daoist doctor Pang Yi Wu exclusively to a handful of selected students. 

 

This course will concentrate on showing how to get rid of facial stains, scars and facial deviations with simple, but effective needle techniques.    

 

Come along to learn and apply these impressive method taught by people with over 30 years experience in the practice of Chinese medicine. (Apply what you will learn on  friends who have this kind of problems. Invite them to come along for free).

Seminars in Aesthetic Acupuncture - face - third out of 5 - 15 hours. On campus. Open to all

This is the 3rd level of 5 seminars aimed at teaching some of the Chinese  imperial court ‘secret beauty’ treatments’, as taught in the 80s by the Daoist doctor Pang Yi Wu exclusively to a handful of selected students. 

 

This course will concentrate on showing how certain Chinese herbs can be used in aesthetics to firm the skin, tighten the pores, hydrate and nourish the skin, and activate blood circulation. In the morning we shall learn and prepare the ‘tools’,  learn  Pang Yi Wu’s  special massage in combination with applying the oils and how to select the herbal product suitable for the specific person to finish off the treatment. (We shall practice on each other)

Seminars in Aesthetic Acupuncture - face - fourth out of 5 - 15 hours. On campus. Open to all

This is the 4th level of 5 seminars aimed at teaching some of the Chinese  imperial court ‘secret beauty’ treatments’, as taught in the 80s by the daoist doctor Pang Yi Wu exclusively to a handful of selected students. 

 

This course will concentrate on showing how to use cupping and gua sha on the face as well as their indications and contraindications i.e. why cupping and gua sha should not be used together with acupuncture. At this seminar we shall  practice also the Pang Yi Wu massage technique in combination with the use of small cups and jade gua sha.  (We shall practice on each other)

Seminars in Aesthetic Acupuncture and Chinese medicine - body  - fifth out of 5 -  15 hours. On campus.  Open to all, except for the needling part

Still relying heavily on the old  Taoist master Pang Yi Wu’s  teaching, this seminar will show how to use special self-massage techniques  to get rid of belly fat and facilitate the proper working of the digestive organs. It will also show simple, but effective techniques to melt cellulite and local fat, tone the tissues and activate the channels in areas prone to muscle and skin relaxation.

Fees: €150

The student can cancel the registration one month before the starting date of the course by applying in writing to the Admission office. In this case the registration fee is refunded.

30% of the registration fees is payable for cancellations notified less than one month from the starting date of the course.
